Frank Ranch
Frank Ranch offers birding along North Butte Creek as well as in the shortgrass prairie uplands. The black-tailed prairie dog towns are home to both Mountain Plover and Burrowing Owl and the old homesteads often yield Barn Owls. The area around headquarters is treed and may be a good migrant trap as it is due north of Two Buttes State Wildlife Area. The CRP on the Frank Ranch is a reliable place to see Grasshopper Sparrows and Northern Harriers and perhaps an occasional Short-eared Owl.
